So I started

...and am almost done.

I had meant to do this on a day by day basis but i forgot. Sorry
Well this is a pic heavy post though
The black& silver went on quite easily
Can't Say the Same with the orange
But I layered and layered and it finally came out correctly
And for the design on the middle i had to make my own color by mixing colors then outlined it in sharpie.
The arms i had to layer alot
DON'T PAINT THE JOINTS, if you do, they won't go into their sockets easily, just a warning
This is the done product so far. One thing that's been happening to me, and I don't know how to stop it is that the pant paint is trading with the peach of the hand. If anyone knows how to fix it please tell me!

Thanks if you've actually followed this so far. I plan to finish up. Or atleast continue tomorrow... so see you then!

Well

I finally got the stuff i needed. The paints cost me $40 with shipping...
I got the basic Games Workshop Citadel paint set for $25 and a few extras on the side. If you're new I would really suggest the set cause it's perfect. It comes with 9 paints and a nice thin brush so yeah.

I also got some a brush set for $10 it comes with 7 different sized ones. I got an EXTRA thin brush for small details $3. (Make sure the brushes you get have super soft bristles or whatever their called...) A Fine point sharpie for $1 and change and some grey primer for like $5 but I don't think I'm going to use it for this project.... If you plan on customizing anything thats not already a DIY toy then make sure you DO sand & prime before you start!

Well...

My order from Games Workshop has been delayed. Whoo **sarcasm**

Now I have to wait longer.

Rule 1: Make sure you have all (or most) of your supplies before starting!

Now to play the waiting game...

Washed

So I just washed my Munny as instructed.

I basically just washed the joints and holes that looked greasy with warm and slightly soapy water.
I in turn also washed off my penciled on design. So remember to wash before you draw on it.
Oh well. Now I'm letting it sit for it to dry (as shown)

Just quickly

Just to say first thing you should do is print out a Munny Template from here (they have templates for ALOT of different toys!) and draw out the design you want. I'd post mine but my scanner is down. Sorry...

Also when you're done you can draw on your Munny with a pencil to start so you can have an idea on what to paint!

AGH ALSO forgot to mention wash your Munny before any of this!

You do however need to give him a quick wash in warm soapy water and dry him thoroughly if you intend to paint him up. They have a hole in their neck joint and plug that water gets in so you'll need to let him drain out for a bit probably. Anyways you gotta do this to get the grease from the mold/handling off him, it's not much don't worry you wont be receiving a nasty greasy figure but it makes a difference to the paint.

I forgot to do this so now all my pencil work (lol just the arm) was put to waste. Well I get to washing him tomorrow. I'm off for now.

The Customizing n00b Part 1: Intro

It is 2:30 a.m. on New Year's day. I have decided my new year's resolution was to do one greater than great Munny.

As I had said in an earlier post I got a GID Munny for my Birthday, a little less than a month ago. I had an idea in my head and had put it on to paper. Now is the time to put it onto vinyl.

I have very little art skills, very little knowledge on customizing toys.

All I know is use Citadel Gamesworkshop Acrylic Paint (very expensive) and soft brushes. So I need to invest in those, which I plan to do soon.

So this will (hopefully) be a help to other new customizers who will learn from my mistakes, because, yes, will make a lot of them.

+I also want to say I don't like "L337" speak but the term "n00b" just fit ... sorry.
